ONI Bureau: One of the 6 people that went missing yesterday after their Indira Awas house got swept away by flood waters of Adangi river, triggered by Cyclone Titli in Ganjam’s Sorada block, was found dead. Efforts are on to trace 5 others. However, chances of their survival are bleak.
The incident had occurred at Bhutapankal village under Gajalbadi panchayat of Sorada block in Ganjam district when four of a family – a couple and their son and daughter-in-law as well as two other people who had taken shelter on the roof of the house became the victim of Cyclone Titli.
The incident came as a big jolt to Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik’s ‘Zero Casualty’ mission during Cyclone Titli. The rescue operation are affected due to inclement weather and heavy rains.
