Cyclone Titli weakens into Deep Depression; Odisha Rivers in spate

ONI Bureau:  After weakening into a cyclonic storm, Titli is now all set to become a deep depression following which it will head towards Gangetic West Bengal.

The Deep Depression over Odisha moved east-northeastwards in past six hours with a speed of 8 kmph, and lay over Odisha near latitude 20.4°N and longitude 84.6°E, 30 km north-east of Phulbani and 70 km southwest of Angul.

It is very likely to move northeastwards towards Gangetic West Bengal and weaken into a depression during next 12 hours. Under the impact of depression heavy rainfall likely at most places with heavy to very heavy falls at isolated places over north Odisha.

The sea condition will be rough to very rough along & off Odisha and West Bengal during next 24 hours. The fishermen are advised not to venture into Sea along and off Odisha and West Bengal coasts and north Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours.

Orange warning (be prepared) has been issued for Balasore, Bhadrak, Keonjhar, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Cuttack, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur and Mayurbhanj.

Worth mentioning, the situation is grim in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Balasore districts as several rivers, including Rushikylya, Vansadhara and Jalaka, have crossed the danger mark and started swelling due to the incessant rain.
