ONI Bureau: Daringbadi, known as the Kashmir of Odisha, has given a big thumbs up to former MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda who held his trademark #Heijau Tea Gathering event here this morning. Hundreds of people gathered at the venue to get a glimpse of Jay Panda and extend their support to him.
Overwhelmed by the response he received at Daringbadi in Kandhamal district, Baijayant addressed the gathering and thanked them for their support. As the crowd gave a call of ‘Change’ or ‘Paribartan’, he too reciprocated saying this is not the Odisha he and others dreamed of.
“Things have gone very bad in the last 3-4 years. Atrocities on women and kids are on rise. Migration of youth has gone up due to lack of employment opportunities in the State. Over 40 lakh Odia workers are employed outside Odisha, even in other countries and many of them are languishing. Governance has completely collapsed here. Goonda Vahini is being deployed to silence the sane voice. Change is the need of the hour. Whoever leads the charge whether any party or individual, will get my full support,” he added.
