Delhi University wins KPL Champions Trophy in Bhubaneswar

The 9th All India KIIT T-20 Day & Night Premier League Cricket Tournament concluded on Sunday with Delhi University winning the Champions Trophy. The final match was held between Delhi and Al-Falah University. Al-Falah University won the toss and decided to bat first. They bowled out for 116 runs in 19.3 overs. In reply to Al-Falah’s 116 runs, Delhi University scored 119 runs by loss of 7 wickets in 17.3 overs.

In the closing ceremony of Indian Cricketer and former selector Chetan Sharma distributed the prizes in presence of Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and Santosh Ku. Mall, Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalay Sangathan, New Delhi. Delhi University won the Champions Trophy with Rs 2 lakh cash prize. The Runners up Al-Falah University got 1.5 lakh cash prize and Runners up Trophy. KIIT University placed in 3rd and Utkal University placed in 4th position, got 50 thousand 25 thousand cash award respectively.

Lalit Yadav of Delhi University declared as Man of the Match (34 runs in 34 balls) and Best Wicket Keeper of the tournament got Rs 12,000 cash prize. Similarly Santosh Hota of KIIT University declared as best fielder, while Gaurav Kumar of Delhi University (11 wicket in 5 Matches) Best bowler and Gaurav Chitkara of Al-Falah University declared as best Batsman of the series (214 run in 5 matches) and each got Rs 6,000 cash prize. Yaspal Daggar of Al-Falah University declared as man of Series and got Rs 8,000 cash prize with trophy. Every league match winner got Rs 10,000 cash prize.

12 Universities including an International University Daffodil University of Bangladesh participated in this tournament.
