Dengue death toll in Odisha reaches to four

The number of dengue infected persons in Odisha increasing day by day which has claimed four lives. Almost 102 persons are undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College, Cuttack.

The Health Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak said, the infected patients are undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the state and necessary steps have been taken to control the situation.

It was also decided that the Health Department will provide full support while Urban Development Department will take up the sanitation drive at dengue affected areas.

However, the minister advised the officials and the patients not to be panic for the situation. He also stated that, Dengue has first come to Odisha from Bangalore. The people from Odisha who are working in Bangalore and Pune, have come to the state with dengue virus and are affected with this water borne disease.

As per the reports, the dengue situation remains grim. Around 1, 892 persons have been tested for the disease, out of which 593 cases have been tested positive so far.
