DMET clears Centre did not consult Odisha Govt on EET-UG Exam

The Directorate of Medical Education & Training (DMET) on Friday informed that the Centre did not consult with Odisha Government over inclusion of Odia language as a medium of examination in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET-UG) for medical courses.

Notably, the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday decided to conduct NEET-UG in eight languages from 2017-18 academic years where Odia language being excluded from the list of languages.

In this connection, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik wrote letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and sought PM’s intervention in this matter.
