5-Year-Old Minor Girl raped at Tarini Basti in Bhubaneswar

Report by Biswa Ranjan Mishra: A five-year-old minor girl of Tarini Basti in Shastrinagar area under Kharvela Nagar police limits of Bhubaneswar, was allegedly raped by a youth of the same locality while she was alone in her house. The matter came to light this afternoon when victim’s family members approached Kharvela Nagar police station to lodge a complaint taking action against the culprit.

Though it was a woman related case, the local police shifted the case to Mahila police station in the city for investigation. Reports said the victim was raped by the youth while her parents, who were daily labourers, are out of the house for work.

Meanwhile police have conducted a medical examination on the victim to verify the truth. Medical sources said the minor has received severe bleeding on her private parts after she was raped.

“We have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit who is still at large. We have got some clue of his hideouts and after investigation details will be made clear,” said an senior police official of Mahila police station.
