ONI Bureau: Former BJD MLA from Phulbani, Debendra Kanhar, who was absconding for over a month, has been arrested from Ichchapuram in Andhra Pradesh. Kanhar is accused of assaulting a girl and her woman. A case was lodged against him on September 3.
The girl had accused Kanhar of forcing her to have sexual relationship with her. She also claimed that Debendra Kanhar is indulged in extra-marital affairs with several women.
A sex CD showing Kanhar in a compromising position with a girl had gone viral on social media. However, Kanhar and his family members had denied it and called it a conspiracy.
Kanhar’s bail plea was rejected by the SDJM court in Phulbani and he was sent to jail.
