IMD forecasts heavy rainfall across Odisha in next 24 hours

ONI Bureau: Odisha is likely to experience heavy rainfall besides thunderstorm and lightning in the next 24 hours, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted on Monday.

MeT also issued thunderstorm, lightning & heavy rainfall warning for 15 districts including Khurda, Puri, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi, Malkangiri – till 12.30 PM today.

Similarly, MeT forecasts heavy rainfall at isolated places in Kandhamal, Rayagada, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Sambalpur, Angul, Jagatsinghpur and Cuttack in next 24 hours.

Water logging, traffic jams, power cuts and road damage were witnessed at various places across the State. However, an hour-long heavy rain caused waterlogging in different parts of the Capital city including near Iskcon temple, Jayadev Vihar and Behera Sahi in Bhubaneswar throwing life out of gear on Monday morning.
