Jan Satyagraha Padayatra: Hundreds of Farmers taken into Custody in Keonjhar

ONI Bureau:  Hundreds of farmers, who were coming to Bhubaneswar to attend the ‘Jan Satyagraha Padayatra’ starting from today, were reportedly taken into custody in Keonjhar early morning today.

Reportedly, 500 members of Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan (NKSS) including women were taken into custody from Keonjhar Railway Station while they were heading to Bhubaneswar.

Reacting over the detention, members of NKSS stages ‘rail roko’ at Cuttack railway station today.

Earlier, NNKS announced to launch ‘Jan Satyagraha Padayatra’ starting from October 29 to November 5 demanding price for their agricultural produce, prestige and pension.

Their demand includes of Rs 5,000 per month pension to around 36 lakh poor farmers across the State.
