ONI Bureau: For years, they did not lodge any protest. They did not even question. It looked like everything was going on smoothly. But, all of a sudden, some BJD Block Chairpersons in Kendrapara district, have raised the banner of revolt against Baijayant Panda just days after he waged a war against CM’s Private Secretary, alleging interference in party affairs.
While Baijayant Panda has been fighting against the system for long, albeit not openly, these PRI representatives were silent all the way. Soon after the Buhalo overtank inauguration in his constituency, Block Chairpersons thronging Naveen Niwas to complain against the BJD MP. Is it staged? We never know although it looks suspicious.
After Nishchintakoili and Mahakalapada, it was the turn of Salepur Block Chairperson to appear at Naveen Niwas yesterday. All of them had just one thing to say – the BJD MP is not taking them into account and losing touch with the locals. But, as we can see Baijayant Panda has been frequenting his constituency, meeting people and launching projects from MPLAD funds.
The office of Baijayant Panda too rubbished the allegations, saying the drama is being staged to malign the MP and create confusion in the mind of BJD President. The press release from the MP’s office revealed Rs 1,78,93,000 was sanctioned from MPLAD funds for 19 projects in Nishchintakoili block, Rs 1,47,15,000 for 23 projects in Mahakalapada block and Rs 1,92,23,000 for 29 projects in Salepur block.
