Jharsuguda Airport gets 4C License to operate Bigger Aircrafts

ONI Bureau:  The second major airport of Odisha, Jharsuguda Airport has received a 4-C category license for running bigger planes like Airbus-320 and Boeing 747.

A team of Directorate General o Civil Aviation (DGCA) and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) had earlier conducted a detailed inspection of required facilities and security measures at the airport which is spread over a sprawling 909.22 acres.

Earlier in May, the airport had got category 2B license as qualified for running smaller planes.

It is to be noted that the airport has been built under the Centre’s UDAN scheme at a cost of Rs 200 crore with Odisha government’s Rs 75 crore share.
