JK Paper Mills in Rayagada Shut as workers continue protest

ONI Bureau:  Authorities of JK Paper Mills in Rayagada locked up the plant on Friday after the contractual labourers continued their stir for the eighth consecutive day yesterday.

The contractual workers resorted cease work stir demanding fulfilment of their 14-point charter of demands that includes monthly salary of Rs 18,000, equal pay for equal work and many more.

It is to be noted that tripartite meeting between JK Paper mill company authorities, agitating labourers and district authorities failed to resolve the issue yesterday. Following which the authority shut the plant.
