ONI Bureau: A 5-member team of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) led by DSP Ravi Singh arrived at Koraput today and started an investigation into the Kunduli girl’s alleged gangrape and suicide case. The four other members are Neha Yadav, Arun Kumar, K.Vijay Kumar and Lala Bahar.
As per the report, the members of NHRC will meet family members of Sasmita tomorrow and later they will meet locals between February 7 and 9 for further investigation into the matter.
The State Human Rights Protection Cell (ADG) has been instructed to furnish all relevant documents including medical reports, victim’s statement, treatment record, details of counselling and order of Orissa High Court on the matter if any, within six weeks.
The team have asked to submit the report to the Commission in 15 days following the probe.
