Earlier, three BJD MPs Nagendra Pradhan, Bhatruhari Mahatab and Prabhas Kumar Singh have moved a privilege motion against Balyan in the Lok Sabha on July 29 for misleading the House about building barrages on Mahanadi River.
Notably, Sanjeev Balyan claimed that Odisha Government was approached by Chhattisgarh in 2006 and 2015 before construction of two barrages, but the former failed to respond.
