Nagraj Dora quits Odisha Congress, to join BJP on June 18

Senior Congress leader and close associate of former Odisha CM Dr. Giridhar Gamang, Nagraj Dora, who has been with the party for the last 30 years, finally tendered his resignation from the Pradesh Congress Committee of Odisha as well as the primary member. He will join the BJP along with Dr. Giridhar Gamang and his son Shishir Gamang on June 18.

Dr. Giridhar Gamang, Shishir Gamang and Nagraj Dora met BJP President Amit Shah on Friday in the presence of Union Ministers Jual Oram and Dharmendra Pradhan. However, they will be officially welcomed into the party fold on June 18.

“I have been serving this party since 1985 (30 long years) from NSUI, Youth Cong and Congress in different responsibilities. Contested 2009 Assembly elections from Jeypore. Congress has completely lost its ideology today and has become a private limited company of few families including one family of Koraput”, he wrote on his Facebook Wall, while taking a dig at Jeypore MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati.

“Congress workers and senior leaders are ignored in the party. It’s the right time to move on towards a rising sun. Met Shri Amit Shah ji (National President BJP ) in Delhi. Formally joining BJP on 18th June. Will start a new innings in another National Party. JAI SRI RAM….”, he further added.
