Naveen Patnaik honoured with Ideal Chief Minister Award

ONI Bureau:Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Ideal Chief Minister’ or ‘Model Chief Minister’ Award by MIT School of Government, Pune.

Naveen received the Aadarsh Mukhyamantri’ (Ideal Chief Minister) Puraskar from former President Dr. Pratibha Patil at the 8th Bharatiya Chhatra Sansad (BCS) at Pune on Sunday.

Former Union Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, Union Ministers Prakash Javdekar, Smriti Irani and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Pune Mayor Mukta Tilak, CPM leader Vrinda Karat and renowned Flautist Hari Prasad Chaurasia were also present at the occasion and addressed the students.

While dedicating the award to people of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik said, “People’s love and affection as well as trust are paramount for any leader. Power is bestowed upon a leader by the people to transform their lives”.

“Politics is the most powerful instrument to bring about change. While the evolution we would have liked to have in governance and public service is still to be achieved, this is not the end of road. We need to keep doing the good work to achieve it”, he added.

While talking about his own political journey, Naveen said, “If you love your people, you don’t fight for elections; rather you fight for a change and transformation. While I am single, I have a family of four and half crore people who are my real strength”.

Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi hailed Naveen Patnaik and said he should keep doing the good job as people’s CM.
