Naveen Patnaik inaugurates 100 Adarsha Vidyalayas in Odisha

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated the much-ambitious ‘Adarsha Vidyalaya’ project in Odisha on the patterns of Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs). He inaugurated a school in his assembly constituency, Hinjili. In total, 100 Adarsha Vidyalayas were inaugurated across 100 blocks in 14 districts of the state.

The ‘Model School’ concept was a pet project of the UPA II government. Even states received initial funds for the project. However, Modi Government refused to fund for this, forcing the state government to take over the scheme and project it as its own.
