The ‘Aahar’ meal will include Rice and Dalma. While the total cost of each meal will be Rs 20, the common people can get it at Rs 5. The remaining Rs 15 will be borne by corporate and industries selected by the government.
The central PSUs – MCL, NALCO and RSP have refused to support the initiative. However, OMC, OHPC, Tata and IDCO are supporting the scheme. In total, 4,000 people can avail ‘Aahar’ in each of the above five cities. Each counter will have food for 1,000 people. The food counters will be closed after the daily quota is over.
