Naveen raises MSP, Mahanadi, Polavaram at Inter-State Meet

Insight Bureau:  Taking part in the 12th Meeting of Inter-State Council Standing Committee, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik raised Mahanadi, Polavaram and paddy MSP hike issues in New Delhi on Saturday.

Patnaik urged the Committee to accept the recommendations of the MM Punchhi Commission Recommendations on Centre-State Relations for a healthy federal fabric.

The CM also demanded constitution of Tribunal soon to resolve the Mahanadi water sharing dispute and urged to stop ongoing Polavaram Dam Project in Andhra Pradesh.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired the meeting of Standing Committee of Inter-State Council.

The Chief Ministers of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tripura and Uttar Pradesh, Union Ministers of Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Arun Jaitley and representatives of 30 Union Ministries/Departments and 7 State Governments were also present to assist the Committee in its deliberations.
