New Chief Secretary of Odisha Aditya Prasad Padhi resumes Office

Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: New Chief Secretary Sri Aditya Prasad Padhi has resumed the office of Chief Secretary Odisha on 30th November, 2015 on superannuation of the outgoing Chief Secretary Sri Gokul Chandra Pati. Sri Padhi took over the charges from Sri Pati in the office chamber of the Chief Secretary in the presence of Development Commissioner Sri R. Balakrishnan, Principal Secretary Home Sri Asit Kumar Tripathy, Principal Secretary Industry Sri Sanjeeb Chopra, Principal Secretary Law Sri Bibhu Prasad Routray, Secretary Panchayati Raj Sri D.K. Singh and other senior officers of the State.

Replying to media queries after taking over the charges, Sri Padhi said, “The new Govt while taking over the charges in 2014 have already specified the priority fields of action. I will follow up all those priority areas.” Chief Secretary further said that the recent drought like situation is the immediate issue.

The final reports will be submitted to Govt of India just after receipt of crop cutting report from different areas of the State. Rural housing, education, health irrigation, bringing in more investment to the State, speedy implementation of the infrastructural projects etc are also priority areas of the Govt.

In response to another query on employment to youths, Sri Padhi said that Govt in 2014 had announced for giving employment to 50,000 persons in Govt sector. That process is on. So far, around 31,000 youths have been engaged in various departments of Govt. Another four to eight thousand youths will be employed within next 4 to 5 months. With  the expeditious implementation of investment projects more employment opportunities will also  be created for the youths.
