Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, on Monday, visited the Puri Jagannath temple and offered his prayers to the Trinity.
“No body can stop the work of Lord Jagannath. The Central Government should withdraw the by law notification,” the Chief Minister said after the visit.
“I thank the people of Puri who have sacrificed their land for the development of Shree Mandir. Their sacrifices will not go waste,” he added..
The National Monument Authority (NMA) had drafted the new heritage bylaws which restricted construction activities within 100 metre of Jagannath temple in Puri.
Servitors, Puri locals as well as politicians had protested the move. CM Naveen Patnaik also sought its withdrawal.
