No Flood-like situation in Odisha: State Deputy Relief Commissioner

INS Bureau:  There is no possibility of flood like situation in the state despite heavy down poured across the State for the last 48 hours, informed State’s Deputy Relief Commissioner Pravat Ranjan Mohapatra today.

As per State Disaster Management Department report, Budhabalanga River flows well while Subarnarekha River passed above danger level at Jamsola ghat was gradually receding. Likewise, the Jalaka River which was also flowing above danger mark will not pose any threat yet. So there is no flood threat in the State so far.

Reportedly, Puri has recorded highest rainfall in last two decades with a record of 394 mm rainfall in last 24 hours that caused flood-like situation in the town. As a result 100-feet-long wall surrounding Indradyumna tank in Puri collapsed reportedly.
