Nuapada, Koraput listed in India’s Top 5 Improved Districts

ONI Bureau:  Niti Aayog today released the second Delta Ranking of Aspirational Districts Programme.

Two districts of Odisha, Nuapada and Koraput have been placed among the top five most improved districts of India.

While, Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu has been placed at the first spot, Nuapada district in Odisha ranked second, followed by Siddarthnagar in Uttar Pradesh at third place, Bihar’s Aurangabad at fourth and Koraput in Odisha at the fifth place.

The districts have been ranked in a transparent basis on parameters across Health & Nutrition, Education, Agriculture & Water Resources, Financial Inclusion & Skill Development, and Basic Infrastructure through key performance indicators.

The ranking have measured the incremental progress made by districts between June 1, 2018 and October 31, 2018. The Surveys were carried out in all Aspirational Districts during the month of June 2018 covering more than 1,00,000 households.

The Aspirational District Programme was launched by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 5, 2018 with the aim to rapidly transform the districts that have shown less progress in key social areas.
