Odia Journalist Jajati Karan gets RNTC International Scholarship

Senior journalist from Odisha, Jajati Karan, who is also the state Bureau Chief of CNN-IBN, has been chosen for ‘RNTC international scholarship for investigative journalism course’ by the Netherlands government.

While 8 investigative journalists across the globe, have bagged this prestigious scholarship, Jajati Karan is the lone scribe from India to be selected for this honour. The scholarship would enable him to get training by renowned experts in the the field of invesigative journalism for two weeks from April 11. The training would be imparted at the Radio Netherlands Training Centre (RNTC), Hilversum in Netherlands.

RNTC is an international renowned media training institute and has been providing career-changing experiences and skills to media professionals in many countries for over 45 years.

Jajati was also awarded Chevening Scholarship by the British government in 2007 and got the opportunity to gain work experience in BBC London and Manchester. He was also selected for the Asia Journalism Fellowship in 2011 by the government of Singapore.

It can be recalled that Jajati Karan had won Ramnath Goenka national award in 2014 for his investative journalism in Odisha mining scam. He has done many exclusive stories on various scams and rackets in Odisha. Jajati has done PG in English Literature from Ravenshaw College and then completed his journalism course from Indian Institute of Mass Communication in Dhenkanal.
