Odish Govt is committed to strengthen Gram Panchayats: CM

Bhubaneswar, Sep 11: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that his government was committed to economically strengthen gram panchayats and welfare of the rural areas. He urged Sarpanchs of villages for the all round development of rural Odisha.

Chief Minister said that in the next five years around Rs.16, 000 crore would be spend for the rural development under various schemes and the role Sarapanchs would be vital. He said that allocated fund would be utilized for providing essential services, basic amenities in all panchayats. He added that his government would focus on the economical development of rural areas in the state.

The Chief Minister of Odisha wrote a letter addressing all 6209 gram sarchpanchs. He urged to transform their panchayats into “Adarsh Gram Panchayats” by serving needy and providing services on-time.  He also stressed upon the proper utilization of funds allocated under various central and state schemes to panchayats for the welfare of the people.
