Odisha: Ashok Tripathy replaces Taradutt as KBK Administrator

In a surprising move, the Odisha Government removed senior IAS Officer Taradutt from the post of KBK Administrator and transferred him to Gopabandhu Academy as the Director. Taradutt was reportedly punished for raising his voice against the recent appointment of 4 IAS Officers to monitor the development work in KBK region.

Taradutt had expressed his displeasure over the appointment of 4 IAS Officers, calling it ‘unwarranted’. He had written a letter to Chief Secretary Gokul Chandra Pati with a CC to CM Naveen Patnaik. It reportedly did not go well with the Odisha CM. Ashok Tripathy has been appointed as the new KBK Administrator.

While talking to ‘News Insight’ Media, R Gupta, a resident of Nabarangpur, said, “It’s a huge disappointment for the district and other areas of KBK region. During his tenure, construction of roads, bridges, hostels etc. got a big boost. The officers were having sleepless nights, as Taradutt made them work. He was better known as ‘Terror Dutt’ among the government officials. He knew how to extract the work from others. His transfer would have an adverse impact on the development of KBK region”.
