Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Naveen Patnaik has written to his Jharkhand counterpart Hemant Soren, requesting for the early completion of Ichha dam. He also wrote about the flood moderation in the Chandil dam of Subarnarekha Multipurpose Project.
Thanking the Jharkhand Government for its cooperation in providing water to Subarnarekha Irrigation Project of Odisha during Kharif season, he assured full support of Odisha for construction of Ichha Dam. Odisha will reimburse its share Odisha of cost of the dam on time.

The Subarnarekha Project of Odisha will be able to utilise its full potential only after completion of the dam.CM Patnaik sought co-operation in early completion of the dam to benefit the farmers in both states.
