ONI Bureau: Much awaited Gurupriya Bridge over Janbai river in Malkangiri district that will connect the cut-off areas of the district to the mainland, will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on July 26.
Gurupriya Bridge will serve as a lifeline for thousands of people in the cut-off areas of the district.
Earlier the bridge was scheduled to be inaugurated on July 18 but it was cancelled due to incessant rain.
Reportedly, Congress has given Chitrakonda bandh call on July 26 opposing Chief Minister’s visit to the region.
However, DGP RP Sharma on Thursday visited the site and reviewed the security measures to be taken at the Gurupriya bridge.
