Odisha Congress seeks Sanjay Dasburma’s immediate ouster

The Congress leaders in Odisha have joined hands today, seeking immediate ouster of Food & Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma from Naveen Patnaik’s cabinet for his alleged chit fund links.

The Congress Party has decided to hit the streets and stage a demonstration on April 26 in capital city Bhubaneswar. “Dasburma has no moral right to remain in office, he should quit immediately,” said PCC President Prasad Harichandan.

Several senior Congress leaders, including Lulu Mohapatra, Srikant Jena and Jayadev Jena attended the meeting.

Sanjay Dasburma is in trouble for allegedly receiving a Pajero as gift from AT Group chief Pradip Sethi, the prime accused in multi-crore chit fund scam in Odisha. The CBI is probing this case. He is also under the scanner for buying the daily newspaper ‘Sarbasadharana’, which was previously owned by Bairiranjan Das, chief of SLB Media and Entertainment and a chit fund accused.
