Odisha Divas 2016 celebrated at Odisha Bhawan Mumbai

The Odisha Divas 2016 was celebrated at Odisha Bhawan Mumbai on 1st April, 2016. Sri Jogendra Behera, Hon’ble Minister MSME, PA & PG, government of Odisha attended the function as the Chief Guest. Sri Chintamani Dyansamantaray, Ex-speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly and Sri G.B.Singh, IPS (Additional Director-General of Police) MHA, New Delhi graced the occasion as Guests of Honour.

Many other eminent Odia people, including Sri Bhagaban Panda, President MOWA, Sri R.P.Muduli, JJLT, Sri Surendra Nath Mohapatra, president VOM, Smt.Kananika Tripathy, President BOWA, Dr.Sukanti Mishra, Publisher, Mumbai Odia Samaja, Dr. Salma Prabhu Clinical Psychologist and others attended the celebrations.

Eminent Odissi Dancer Smt. Debadipti Biswal, Smt. Shantilata Barik, eminent singer from Odisha and Sri Sujit Parida (Jr.Kishor Kumar) singer performed at the cultural and musical programmes.

Hon’ble Minister Mr. Behera appealed the General Public to showcase the image of Odisha and spread the Odia language. He highlighted the publications of the Mumbai Odia Samaja, newspaper and urged the people to render help towards the cancer patients and thanked Maharashtra Government for allotment of second land for Odisha Bhawan, Mumbai.

Sri Chintamani Dyansamantaray, former Speaker spoke on the glorious past of Odisha and Lord Jagannath. Sri G.B.Singh, IPS assured all kind of help to the Odia people living in Mumbai whenever necessary.

Sri K.N.Biswal, OSD, Odisha Bhawan Vashi, Navi Mumbai, coordinated the programme and gave the introduction and vote of thanks too.
