ONI Bureau: In a first of its kind in Odisha, a shelter home for homeless women “Asraya” was inaugurated at Niladri Vihar in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena dedicated the 100-bedded Shelter for Urban Homeless (SUH) to the urban homeless women in the State.
Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared the Shelter Home as Women’s Shelter Home.
While speaking at the occasion Mayor Jena said that the homeless women who are living in the open air at footpaths, at railway station and bus stands can now stay in the SUH easily.
