Odisha Government airlifts Odia workers from across India

More than 300 migrant workers from Odisha stranded in North-East regions are being brought to Bhubaneswar under the state government’s order. The Odisha government has announced that it would airdrop stranded migrant labourers in remote areas across the country in this COVID19 situation.

Out of 300 persons from Odisha stranded in Manipur, Tripura, Nagaland, Meghalaya & Assam, Air Asia Flight brought as many as 180 persons from the northeast region to Bhubaneswar Airport yesterday. Another flight transporting migrant workers from Assam, Nagaland, Tripura, Meghalaya arrived at Bhubaneswar Airport late in the evening yesterday carrying 138 migrant workers.

An official statement from the government stated that the mission would last untill all migrant workers safely return to the State.
