Odisha Government reduces Bus Fare by 2 Paise

Thanks to continuous decline in diesel prices in the last couple of months, the Odisha Government has reduced the bus fare in the state by 2 paise. This is the third reduction in bus fare in recent months. The decision was announced by Commerce & Transport Minister Ramesh Chandra Majhi. The last reduction took place on November 5.

The ordinary bus fare has come down to 60 paise per km from the existing 62 paise. The Express bus fare will now cost 63 paise instead of 65 paise per km. The Deluxe bus fare has gone down to 83 paise per km from the existing 85 paise. The AC Deluxe travel will now cost Rs 1.02 per km in place of Rs 1.04.

Since October 2014, the diesel prices have been reduced three times because of the decline in global crude prices. Similarly, the Odisha Government has obliged to the people by reducing bus fare, as it hiked the same when diesel prices were soaring.
