Odisha Govt announces ‘Sarbakhyama Yojana’

In a major development, the Government of Odisha on Wednesday announced ‘Sarbakhyama Yojana’ or ‘Amnesty scheme’ with a view to regularise unauthorised buildings and establishments in urban areas across the State.

Housing and Urban Development Minister Niranjan Pujari announced the scheme at State Secretariat in Bhubaneswar saying people can apply for regularisation of their unauthorised constructions in urban areas with a few conditions including paying fee, submitting fire clearance certificate etc.

“The ‘Amnesty Scheme’ or ‘Sarbakhyama Yojana’ intends to give an opportunity to every citizen for regularising unauthorised construction undertaken within the Development area concerned, prior to the date of the commencement of the scheme, by way of compounding on payment of fees at the rates prescribed in the scheme, so as to bring it into the fold of authorised development”, said Pujari.

Owners of unauthorised building can apply for regularisation by submitting a specific application form to their respective development authorities.
