Odisha Govt welcomes Zero Tax on Common Food Items

The Odisha government on Friday welcomed the zero tax rate on common food items and reduction in tax rate from 6 to 5 per cent by the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council.

However, the State Government, opposed the Clean Environment cess on Coal.

Notably, the GST structure announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday agreed to give a little more relief to the poor in the goods and services tax (GST) which will come into force on April 1 next year.
