Odisha Home Secretary submits reports over Barabati fiasco

Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: Home Department Principal Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy has submitted the inquiry report over Barabati fiasco to the Odisha government. Expressing his resentment over bottle throwing incident at Barabti Stadium during the T-20 match of India and South Africa on Oct 5, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked home department principal secretary to investigate into the matter.

Over the incident, Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has already submitted a report to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding crowd violence at the Barabati Stadium. Tripathy said that the report is under consideration of Odisha government.

State sports secretary Saswat Mishra said that action will be taken against the offenders on the basis of the report to be furnished by the home secretary.

As per the finding of OCA, in the report to it mentioned that water bottles would not be allowed inside the stadium henceforth and it would adhere to the guidelines laid down by International Cricket Council (ICC).
