A 50-year-old man- Sukadev Bhoi- from Bolangir committed suicide by jumping into a well after his nephew tested positive for Covid-19. Police and Fire personnel recovered the body of Bhoi of Likhiria village near Bolangir from a well in the area with a stone attached to his lungi.
Police stated that Bhoi was the uncle of one of the two young fellows from the village who had tested positive for coronavirus on May 1. They had returnees from Tamil Nadu and tested positive on April 28 after showcasing symptoms. Villagers alleged that Bhoi might have committed suicide over the horror of getting infected.
