Odisha passes Supplementary Budget proposal of Rs.10,233 Cr

Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: A supplementary budget proposal of Rs. 10,233 crore has been passed by Odisha Council of Ministers on Thursday here. The proposals will be tabled in Odisha assembly during Winter Session commencing from December 1.

As per officials, in the proposal focus has been given on agriculture  considering the looming drought situation in 21 districts of the state and condition of distressed farmers. As per the proposal, demand expenditure of Rs 13,00 crore have been allotted to agriculture sector and its ancillary sectors. The proposal has also included expenditure to continue eight schemes sponsored by the central government like ‘Backward Region Grant Front’ and ‘Integrated Action Plan’ in the state.
