Tributes poured in from across Odisha as people remembered former Chief Minister Biju Patnaik on his 105th birth anniversary.
Chief Minister and Biju Patnaik’s son Naveen Patnaik participated in an event organised at party headquarters.
“The goal of Bijubabu’s life was to bring back the glory of the past and bring Odisha to the pinnacle of development. Service and self-esteem were his ideals. Millions of our team members, brothers and sisters continue to work on this ideology. On the occasion of Bijubabu’s jubilee, I wish you all the best,” he said in his address.
“Bijubabu’s principles, ideals and thoughts are reflected in every step we take today. However, we still have a long way to go. On the occasion of Bijubabu’s jubilee, let us vow once again to serve the needs of the four crore people of Odisha. Let us continue to fight for the self-esteem of Odisha.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his tribute to former Odisha CM Biju Patnaik through a tweet.
“Tributes to Biju Babu on his birth anniversary. His futuristic vision for India, emphasis on human empowerment as well as social justice inspires us all. The nation is proud of his efforts for Odisha’s progress,” he tweeted.
