Odisha Textile Minister meets Union Minister

State Textile, Handlooms & Handicrafts Minister Smt. Snehangini Chhuria met the Union Textile Minister Sri Santosh Kumar Gangwar in New Delhi today and put forth various demands for all round development of Handicraft sector of the state.

During a threadbare discussion Smt. Chhuria raised the attention of the Union Minister towards opening of a Marketing & Services Extension Centre at Rayagada under office of DC (Handicrafts), strengthening of ASI office at Bhubaneswar with required laboratory and technical manpower for timely issue of non-antiquity certificate, setting up of a branch of National Institution for Design (NID) in Odisha, opening of a branch of Export Production Council for Handicrafts at Bhubaneswar, Central Assistance for opening of 10 Handicrafts Emporium for Utkalika under Infrastructure and Technology Development Scheme and establishment of a craft complex at Pipili, the Applique hub of Odisha.

In response to the demands Union Minister committed to provide all possible support and central assistance to boost the handicraft sector of the state. Senior officials of the ministry were also present during the discussion.
