The decision to put the agitation on hold, was taken by the traders following the meeting with Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Sanjay Dasburma. A seven-member committee with three from the traders’ body and four government representatives, will look into all issues and grievances.
The traders have been demanding the waiver of 5% VAT on pulses and wheat products and 1% entry tax levied on April 9. They had stopped the import of pulses, wheat and wheat products from other states.
