Odisha Wonder Boy Budhia Singh’s statements recorded under Sec 164

The Statements of wonder boy Budhia Singh and his mother Sukanti Singh was recorded by the police and Child Welfare Committee under section 164 of CrPC at their house in Salia Sahi on Thursday.

Budhia and his mother returned to Bhubaneswar from Mumbai on Wednesday evening who were on vacation and the trip was sponsored by Viacom18. They had gone to Kodaikanal in Tamil Nadu and from there to Mumbai.

Budhia’s mother Sukanti had said that Budhia would not go back to the Sports Hostel again rather she would prefer to allow him to stay at a private place where he would get a proper training.

Budhia who came into light after running a 65-kilomere distance from Puri to Bhubaneswar at the age of six, was staying at the sports hostel since 2007. He felt as if he is being lodged at a jail and also alleged that he was being given training for 100 metre, 200 metre race while he was interested in long-distance running and was not getting desired training at the sports hostel.
