ONI Bureau: The mortal remains of Odia youth Debasish Jena, who died in Dubai last month under mysterious circumstances, were brought to Odisha today. Former Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, who was closely following up the case with the Indian Consulate in Dubai seeking proper investigation as well as return of the mortal remains to India.
Family members of Debasish had sought Jay Panda’s help a few days ago. He had met them on September 27 and assured all support. Jena, who hailed from Rajnagar in Kendrapara, died in Dubai on September 14.
Baijayant Panda paid his last respects to Debasish Jena’s body at the Bhubaneswar Airport upon arrival. Expressing his concerns over the problems faced by migrant labourers from Odisha outside the state and abroad, Jay Panda said, “I have a dream to ensure that youths of Odisha don’t move out in search of work and get enough job opportunities here”.
