Odisha’s tableau presented at the 71st Republic Day parade in New Delhi bagged the second spot. The Runkuna Rath rolled out ninth on the Rajpath during the Republic Day parade in New Delhi on Sunday.
Showcasing Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, the tableau depicted the renowned Rukuna Rath Yatra of Lord Lingaraja, worshipped as both Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu.
Defence minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday will hand over the trophies to the winning states at Rashtriya Rangshala Camp in Delhi.
Assam’s tableau which showcased the rich dance forms and craftsmanship of the State has bagged the first prize, and Uttar Pradesh secured the third position.
Artist Gajendra Sahoo, who had designed the Odisha’s tableau along with other artists, is likely to receive the award along with the officials today.
