Over 500 Odisha Plumbers yet to return from Nepal

More than 500 plumbers from Odisha’s Kendrapara district, who have been left stranded in earthquake-hit Nepal, are yet to return home. Their well-being is yet to be ascertained. Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda, who came to know about these plumbers, has approached External Affairs minister Sushma Swaraj.

The family members of these workers have complained that although they are reportedly safe, but without food and relief materials. Mr. Panda has urged Sushma Swaraj to look into the matter with urgency and ensure the safe return of poor plumbers.

Kendrapada Collector Debraj Senapati has directed the concerned officials in the district to make an on-the-spot inquiry to get the version of the family members and relatives of those plumbers so that their exact number and location can be identified.
