PM Lands Up In Odisha To Survey Cyclone Hit Areas; Praises Naveen

PM Narendra Modi arrived in Bhubaneswar on Monday Morning and conducted an aerial survey of the cyclone hit areas in Odisha along with Governor Ganeshi Lal, chief minister Naveen Patnaik and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan.


The PM was full of praise for CM Naveen Patnaik for managing the disaster so well. Modi said that the CM did an impressive work in terms of planning to tackle the rage of the cyclone.

The central and state teams as well as in the district and grassroots level, everyone worked with great coordination in the rescue and relief work.

Prime Minister Modi has announced immediate assistance of Rs 1000 crore for relief and restoration work in the areas affected by Cyclone Fani.

Apart from the Rs 1,000 crore assistance Modi also announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of the kin of those who died and Rs 50,000 for the injured. The Centre had announced an assistance of Rs 381 crore to the Odisha Disaster Response Fund last week.
