According to reports, two groups of Madhuban and Madhupur villages were on rampage after group clash during Ganesh idol immersion and Khurdurkuni festival. However the exact reason of the clash yet to be ascertained. The groups ransacked many shops in the areas and pelted stones leaving many injured on Monday night. It is noteworthy that on Sunday, students of Revenshaw university were attacked during Ganesh idol immersion here, following which students protested and ransacked the campus.
