Post-Poll Violence occured in Many Places, Sec 144 clamped in Jajpur

Post-poll violence continued unabated in Odisha as many people were injured, houses, shops, vehicles were damaged in various parts of the state including Jajpur, Khurda, Cuttack and Kendrapara districts.

The district administration has clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 as three persons were critically injured in a group clash at Jana village under Panikoili police limits in Jajpur district.

Earlier on Tuesday, six persons were injured as bombing reported in Anyaspur Gram Panchayat at Bari region in Jajpur district.

Tension gripped at Jagannathpur village under Durgapur panchayat in Begunia block in Khordha district as houses, shops and vehicles were damaged during a clash between BJD and BJP supporters in the region.

Tensions erupted during re-polling at Pokhari gaan panchayat under Niali block in Cuttack district after locals staged protest demanding immediate arrest of ballot box looters while, BJP District Secretary Mamata Samal was attacked by miscreants in Kendrapara.
