Prakash Mishra gets Additional Charge of DG, ITBP

In a significant development, CRPF DG Prakash Mishra, who recently assumed charge, has been given the additional charge of DG, Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). He will take up the additional responsibilities with effect from 1st January 2015.

The incumbent ITBP DG, Subhas Goswami will retire from service on 31st December 2014. The Union Home Ministry preferred Prakash Mishra to hold the additional charge of this key post, as he is seen as the most efficient and honest officer who can deal with any situation through his vast knowledge, experience and expertise.

Prakash Mishra, a 1977-batch IPS officer from Odisha cadre, is the former DGP of Odisha. He served as a Special Secretary at the Home Ministry before his appointment as the CRPF DG. He will retire in February 2016.
